Electron beam Irradiation Cross- Link (EBXL) Compound (EP - 618)

Product description

Irradiation cross-linkable LSHFFR Polyolefin compound is based on polyolefin resin, it is produced and pelletized by special technology with adding environmentally friendly or halogen-free flame retardant, antioxidant and other special additives. The materials are tested by SGS, and environmental control substances such as heavy metals and halogens comply with RoHS environmental protection directives. This series of products has excellent mechanical and physical properties, electrical properties, flame retardant properties and cable-forming technology, and meets the relevant standards.

Type and application

Type Compound Description Application/Standard
EBXL- 618-I Irradiation Cross-linkable LSHFFR Polyolefin Insulating Compound Solar cables (EN50618), Locomotive Cables (ELRS_SPEC_ELC_0019) , Automotive cable (JASO 618), and cables for Defence (EED-50-12)
EBXL- 618-S Irradiation Cross linkable LSHF FR Polyolefin Sheathing Compound

Processing :

The product should be dried before use. It is better to use the rate ≤(1.5-2.0):1 low compression ratio screw to extrude. Recommended extrusion temperature:different varieties, different machine types processing temperature is different, please adjust according to the plasticization of the material, contact the supplier if necessary)

The following temperature(℃) profile of extruder is recommended

Type Zone Zone 1 Zone 2 Zone 3 Zone 4 Zone 5 Head Die
EBXL- 618 Temp(℃) 110 150 170 180 185 185 185

Note: The material should be used after drying. The drying temperature is 40-60°C, Time is 2-3h. It is strictly forbidden to dry for too long

Irradiation dose

About 8-14 megarads, thermal elongation should be 40-60%

Storage and transportation

Packing: 25 / 30 Kg packed in Moisture Barrier Multi-layer liner with PP Woven bag.

Transportation and storage: Cable materials should not be exposed to the sun and rain during transportation. They should be stored in a clean, cool, dry and ventilated warehouse.
